If you want a program ( eg. writing without tears, clicker 5 etc), implemented in your child's education, obtain a letter from
your child's doctor that clearly states that it is ESSENTIAL for eg. fine motor development. Make sure the word Essential is in the request before submitting it to the SERT, EA, etc. Sometimes this step will allow things to happen at a quicker pace, depending on the nature of the request. It shows the request to be important, and professionally perscribed.
Note: In my daughter's case where she has fine motor difficulties, I requested Writing Without Tears, well I would have had to go thorugh the waiting period (the programs do cost money/ ordering etc). After obtaining this letter my daughter was involved with this program within 3 weeks. This letter shows your child's needs, not your wants. It is also approved by your doctor, a medical professional.
